For Julio Lopez, dance has never been simply a hobby—it has been a lifelong calling. He began dancing at just 10 years old and, by the age of 13, had already entered the world of professional dance. What began as a childhood passion grew into decades of experience, discipline, artistry, and dedication to his craft.
Throughout the Hampton Roads community, many know Julio as a talented and respected DJ. But he is much more than the person behind the music. Julio is an accomplished dancer, a demanding instructor, and a passionate community builder who brings people together through rhythm, movement, and connection.
As the owner of En Clave Dance Studio, Julio believes his students deserve nothing less than quality instruction and measurable progress. On the dance floor, he is not there simply to be anyone’s friend—he is there to teach. When students invest their time and money in learning from him, he takes that responsibility seriously.
Julio challenges and tests every student, pushing them beyond their comfort zones to unlock their full potential and develop skills they may not yet recognize within themselves.
